Shayde’s Testimonial – From the Boys Dorm

Hi, I’m Shayde. I grew up in the church. At a young age, I realized what God’s call on my life was: music. I’ve always had a passion for music. However, I haven’t always had a passion for God.
At the beginning of my freshman year, I became two things: a vegetarian and an atheist. I couldn’t explain why all my prayers went unanswered. My relationship with God wasn’t its best during that time. My relationship with my mom was even worse.
Earlier this year, I made the horrible mistake of running away with the girl that is now my ex-girlfriend. I hated life, I hated my family. I hated myself! I just wanted to start over. Eventually, I got caught, and, to make a long story short, I got sent to New Creations.
Since my arrival, God has: restored my relationship with my mom, helped me out of a both physically and emotionally abusive relationship, and has given me the fresh start that I’ve been longing for. God has restored my passion for His call on my life. When I leave New Creations I plan on playing guitar in a Christian band.
