Parenting tough teens can be exhausting, and, depending on your personality, can take every ounce of energy. In fact, your personality will determine the timing of the decision of placing your son/daughter into a boarding school. You must enter into the situation positively.
When I speak with parents who are afraid of telling their student about placement, I suggest that they tell them (suggestively) during the time leading up to placement. Be honest! It seems that every time I have difficulty coming up with the right words to tell someone when it is a hard matter, I pray, and God, inevitably, says to tell them the truth and do so in love. Do not threaten; if you have threatened them about placing them in a boarding school, then you’ll need to begin telling them that time is running out.
Will they hate you? No, the vast majority of the students here at New Creations Boarding School cannot wait to talk to mom and dad. I recently talked to a young lady who was here because she had a relationship with someone over 18 whom she was going to marry. When she was enrolled, she was dead set on doing what she had to in order to get through, and she was very intent on still marrying this man. Now, she has stated her relationship with this man has ended, and she is getting along well with her parents.
Don’t act in fear, act in faith.
Great post! You run a superb program and i think all parents should read this article before they talk to there teens about sending them to a boarding school. Keep them coming and i hope all is well.
Good Morning! I need any information that you may have on
boarding schools/families that would accept a soon to be 9 year old
boy with behavioral issues. Thanks!
hi my name is tatiana and i was wondering where the children stay when they are at new creation boarding school, how old they are, and when the program starts.
Thank you for the question, Tatiana. We have separate dormitories for the guys and the girls. Students range in age from 12 to 17 and can enter the program virtually at any time throughout the year. Many do start at the beginning of the fall or spring semesters.

Hello, I was just wondering what physical activities the teens take part in. Baseball? Soccer?
Dear Phoenix,
Thank you for your question. I’ve passed along your inquiry to our director for follow up. Our girls take part in volleyball, basketball and soccer; and our boys take part in basketball and soccer. We also go camping, hiking, roller skating, swimming and horseback riding (one of our ministries is the CrossRoads Ranch).
